Optimizing Step-Size of Perturb & Observe and Incremental Conductance MPPT Techniques Using PSO for Grid-Tied PV System

A maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique plays an important role to ensure photovoltaic (PV) output is extracted under stochastic weather conditions. The research date tends focus on developing a standalone optimization MPPT algorithm rather than looking into hybrid algorithm. This paper introduces particle swarm (PSO) optimize the PV and determine best design variable for penalising step size of conventional methods namely perturb observe (PO) incremental conductance (IC). With help (PSO+IC PSO+PO), no longer fixed, it changing according solar irradiance. To evaluate proposed algorithm, single-stage grid connected system designed several different scenarios with various performance compared. results demonstrate that remarkably better in terms ripple settling time.
